Grape soda review: Frostop Grape 2026-09-14 Sometimes a new type of grape soda just tempts you from the fridge by the door at the local hardware store. For years. It's never the right time to try it. And it looks so... suspicious there, next to the home-grown duck eggs for sale. Could it possibly be good? "What Real Tastes Like" it proclaims proudly from the top of the label. I beg to differ. My trailer was waiting in the parking lot, full of my grandma and grandpa's gravestone waiting with geologic patience while I spent my hard-earned $2.80 on this soda and deposited two dimes into the softball donation bucket on the counter. The soda wasn't cold enough for a layer of condensation to form on its surface, but it was cold. The first sniff had a hint of vomit to it. I took a sip. It definitely tasted fake. Kind of bland, yet medicinal and not in a good way. There was an addictive dynamic where I couldn't stop trying it, like that urge to sniff gasoline just one more time. But I did stop. Because it was pretty bad. I didn't finish the Frostop. Although some small part of me wanted to. 2/10
